I offer an extensive educational, professional, and teaching background tailored to your students needs and ability. I have a B.A. with honors in Political Science and International Relations. I spent my Junior Year at University College London studying European Politics and History. I hold two Masters Degrees in International Affairs and Public Administration, and a Doctorate in Public Administration.
I bring a diverse professional background to the student at the national level. I know how government operates both from legislation and administration perspective, having led two national organizations. I am a student of history and have seen enormous changes in my life time. I had an opportunity to serve a three year term on the Consumer Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington D.C., immersed in consumer and economic issues.
I have traveled extensively in the United States and have visited over 40 countries. I have served as a trainer for the Peace Corps in Romania, Latvia, and Estonia on Civil Society topics, and was a United Way volunteer trainer in South Africa. I bring both a historical and contemporary perspective to World History and International Relations.
Currently, I teach part-time at New School University and my courses are community development bridging domestic and international concepts and I have taught Urban Policy. My approach is to build on the strengths of each student and help them master data and concepts by understanding how they are applied, and the influence they have had on society. Relevance is critical to building knowledge and appreciation of the contributions of others. I enjoy working with diverse students.
Finally, I am the parent of four children and three of my daughters graduated college within four years. I have an 8th grade son who is inquisitive and has strong social studies and math skills. I enjoy spending time with them learning and understanding their school topics and materials. It would be a great pleasure to be a resource to your student.
