Hello - My name is Elizabeth and I believe in something unusual ... READING, WRITING, AND LEARNING for academic enjoyment! I help students engage with the material they must learn to increase test scores, help with memory, and create positive learning outcomes.
One of the ways to improve academic performance is to enjoy the material you are working with. I have a background in television production, (ABC's A & E) theater and photography which has helped my career as a literacy and language arts teacher become something that is fun and very productive. My students have improved their NJ ASKS and SAT scores as well as stating "it's your fault I've become so interested in poetry, books, writing and reading stories." My tutoring sessions will follow a lesson plan template set by the subject material you need assistance with. I want to make sure you comprehend the material completely and will also offer timed reading and writing segments within the time frame. I adhere to all NJ core curriculum standards as well as having in depth knowledge of testing for NJ state.
I have been teaching in public school classrooms in middle and high schools as well as pre college programs for more than five years now and every day is an adventure in learning.
