Most of my experience has been tutoring in statistics for graduate students in a non statistics program. I learned what I know the hard way and understand frustration many people have. All my tutoring experiences have been for classes with an integrated Statistical Computation element. This has been SPSS or SAS. I also know R and can teach you R as well.
I have taught pre-calculus, calculus and pre-algebra and statistics as well as run help sessions. I can teach you delta epsilon proofs for calculus if needed or help with abstract algebra, but at that point you should be studying with fellow students. I passed a couple Actuary tests a number of years ago, that was in Calculus and Probability.
My goal is to give you an understanding of the material so you are comfortable with it and can then master the material. You will tell me what you know and let me see how you think about the material. If there is something that needs to be corrected or if you need additional understanding then I'll cover that. You will be the one driving the session, not me. I don't have any "easy" methods or shortcuts. Not because I am against that, but it is not my gift. I know others who can do that, so if that is what you want there are others who can provide it.
I can deal with people who are very frustrated, but still motivated. It would be difficult for me to provide motivation.
I enjoy learning.
