I have almost ten years of teaching experience working with students in middle school, high school, and the university level. I have taught courses in Theatre, English, Writing (composition and creative) as well as courses in Communications, such as Public Speaking. Additionally, I have worked with a wide range of students, including tutoring students with learning disabilities. I love teaching and working one on one with students, and have also functioned as an academic advisor with those students seeking career and academic guidance. Lastly, I also have university search committee experience, and can help with academic resume or application materials.
I hold a PhD in Theatre and performance from the University of Colorado and a BFA from New York University. I have worked with student films, industrials and independent film-makers as a performer and director/collaborator. I could help students with film acting, directing, as well as editing feedback and script.
I hold a PhD in theatre from the University of Colorado with a specialization in performance. I have taught multiple public speaking courses on the university level when working at the University of the Virgin Islands. Additionally, I have tutored college athlete students in public speaking as well as worked with high school students in presentation development.
I have been teaching students for over seven years and am also certified in college teaching. I also have experience tutoring students with learning disabilities. I am aware of various learning styles through the Kolb system. I feel it is important for students to not only recognize their own best learning styles, but to also attempt and to engage with other forms for increased academic development. I have worked with students on note-taking, listening and participation skills, research methods and experiential learning, as well as visual aids and memorization so as to optimize learning.
I hold a PhD in theatre from the University of Colorado, as well as a master's from Villanova University and a BFA from New York University. I have been teaching over the past 10 years and love it! My areas of specialization are acting, directing, playwriting, and dramaturgy, as well as the theatre history. I am not a designer or a choreographer, but have worked closely with artists in those fields and could provide conceptual insight or feedback.
