Hi, my name is Sharon and I am a recent graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Sport Psychology. I am currently tutoring students in subjects ranging from Chemistry and precalculus, to Geometry and English. Throughout high school and college, I have tutored students of all ages in subjects such as Spanish, Chemistry, Physiology, Algebra, and Calculus. The strong science and math background that I have received through my education at RPI allows me to tutor most introductory as well as advanced math and science classes. My education has also taught me about organization, effective study skills, and time management, which I would love to teach to others. My past experiences as a tour guide, counselor, and martial arts instructor has given me great communication skills that allow me to effectively tutor students.
When I am tutoring, I am very patient and thorough. In most math and science subjects, if you cannot understand Chapter 1, you will never be able to understand Chapter 2, and so on, because everything builds on the previous information. I will help struggling students by working through the problems with them, and providing them with additional questions to ensure that they have a complete understanding of the subject. I will provide them with as little or as much assistance as they need!
