My name is Khusbu and I recently graduated Rutgers University-New Brunswick in May 2011 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Cell Biology and Neuroscience with a double major of Journalism & Media Studies. I am interested in tutoring writing and I have taken many writing courses in my undergraduate career. Many of these courses involved different types of writing from lengthy essays to short news articles. My classes ranged from Expository Writing to News Writing & Reporting to Science & Health Writing to Writing for Print Media. As a Journalism & Media Studies major, I have wrote many papers and understand the writing process. During my college years, I was selected to become a writing tutor at the Writing Center at Rutgers University and have also published an article on NJBiz.com.
I hope to help any students struggling with writing and make it easier for them to understand the grammar and context behind writing. As a tutor, I feel writing is difficult to teach but easy to improve on. Working with students and assessing their strengths and weaknesses is one way which can improve their writing. I would love for students to learn to enjoy the writing process at the end of each writing session. For many students, writing becomes the most difficult of a process, but as a tutor, I would like to teach them that writing is a way of expression.
