If you’re anywhere near as confused by English as I am by math, I can relate to what you’re going through! What I lack in my aptitude with numbers, I more than make up for in my verbal ability. And I’ve developed the skills as an educator to help transfer some of my knowledge onto you, so that your grades will improve.
I’m a college writing instructor with background as an English Language Arts teacher in the NYC schools. I also do private tutoring in one-on-one or small group sessions.
I have a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English. I’ve done additional coursework in adolescent psychology, and I attend professional development seminars.
I’m here to help middle school, high school and college level students of varying proficiencies and diverse populations. I take a holistic approach to tutoring, which means part of helping you with English is determining outside factors that affect your performance, such as lack of sleep, fear of failure, time management issues, etc. I’m patient and sensitive to each student’s needs. As we get work done, you may even find our sessions fun! It’s usually easier to learn when you feel confident and at ease. We’ll take manageable steps to improve your overall grades, test scores &/or fluency in English. I look forward to helping you meet your goals.
