Hi! My name is Candy. I am a self-made private tutor with over 20 years of experience under my belt! I started out studying pre-medicine at a small, very competitive college in the south, then thought I wanted to join the Peace Corp and finished with a B.A. degree in Sociology. Since I have always gravitated to teaching in a very natural way, starting with running the neighborhood "school" in my basement as a child, I next started taking special education coursework at Trenton State College, but ended up starting my family instead. I eventually made the choice to stay home and raise my two boys, so that I could remain integrally involved with their schooling.
As my children, and those of my family and neighbors, started having difficulties with math and science in their elementary years, I jumped in without hesitation to "give them a few pointers." This very quickly turned into a private business for me that has been extremely rewarding!
I can truly say that every student I have worked with continues to surprise me with his or her own brand of "uniqueness," which always includes a special learning style and lots of untapped potential waiting to be unleashed. I still get such pleasure out of seeing that light bulb go off!
If you need help with basic math or science, Algebra, Geometry, Earth Science, Biology, GED, SAT, and/or overall study skills, I would love to talk to you. But don't just take my word for it, talk to students of mine who have turned an almost-failing into a definitely-passing, and not only lived to tell about it, but actually had fun along the way! I would like to think that I specialize in: calming the frenzied, simplifying the confusing, and building up the downtrodden because EVERYONE SHOULD TASTE THE SWEETNESS OF SUCCESS!
