My name is Kelly and I was born and raised in Hamilton, NJ. I am twenty-five years old. I graduated with a BFA from Pratt Institute, class of 2010, in Brooklyn, NY. I majored in Painting, and minored in Art History, with a specialty in Fashion Design. While there, I was one of two seniors selected by the internationally renowned NYC based curator and artist Alexi Worth for my painting, "Yves Saint Laurent Muse" and was given "visual prominence" at the Undergraduate Exhibition in Brooklyn. My intense courses and working with others enhanced my skills and helped me excel as a fine artist.
My formal education in acting began at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in 2009, between classes at Pratt. I studied under Ron Stetson, who in turn studied directly under Sanford Meisner of the Meisner Technique. My most recent play was a series of comedy skits at the Producer's Club Theatre in Manhattan. I am currently going to be enrolling part time within the next couple months at the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade school, where I intend to master my love of comedy. Ever since I could talk, I have loved to have an audience and make people laugh.
I have a passion for the arts, particularly fine arts and acting. I am proud of my education and training, and I love to encourage others and teach them what I know and love. My goal is for my passions to be contagious and for those I tutor to love it just as much as I do. My greatest professors and coaches are the ones who are truly passionate and ultimately love what they do and excel at.
I have experience as a nanny. I have cared for a family friend's daughter since she was born. She is now ten. I taught her how to sew recently, and I absolutely love teaching her how to paint and draw in my studio. We work together. She looks up to me and is always eager to learn about my talents, and she is also finding her own unique talents in the arts. We also go over lines together and she always helps me prepare for upcoming auditions. She could have been my understudy for the last play I was in, as I am proud to say she memorized all the lines and enjoyed rehearsing with me.
I love what I do, and my goal is to have fun and be sure that others interested in these subjects learn and enjoy themselves fully as well. If I can inspire someone, whether he or she simply finds a new hobby or if they are determined to pursue the arts, as I myself am still young and reaching for the stars, then that is what I am happy to set out to do.
