My name is Jennifer and I have been teaching in the South Brunswick School District for ten years. I am currently a 6th grade
special education teacher with a specialization in Reading
Arts for students with learning disabilities. I am also highly Highly Qualified in ELA
/ Language Arts
) and Social Studies
on the secondary level. I am very experienced with working with students who have dyslexia
, having been trained in the Orton Gillingham
reading program and being certified as a Wilson Reading
instructor. I am equipped with all the materials necessary to take students through these highly sought after reading programs.
I love to tutor students of all levels and ages in reading and writing
as well as other subjects because I am a true believer that every students can learn, and that the learning process should be an enjoyable experience for each and every students. Whether it's helping a child develop their decoding and comprehension skills, explaining and helping a students to understand a math
concept, or assisting a young adult in interpreting classic works of literature
, I provide the appropriate level of support with patience and enthusiasm.
While my area of expertise lies in teaching reading and language arts, I also also tutor Elementary and Middle School students in math up to the pre-algebra
level. I have experience teaching earth sciences and social studies at the middle school level as well.
Finally, if a student is preparing for a standardized test such as the PARCC or SAT
or just wants to improve their study habits and/or organization
