Is your child struggling to complete homework on his or her own? Does your child struggle to keep up in class? I can help your child feel more confident and gain the skills he or she needs to be a successful student.
I am a certified Special Education Teacher with 6 years of teaching experience and am highly qualified in science, math, and language arts. I graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in Biology, and am pursuing a Masters degree in Special Education. I have experience working with elementary and middle school students with varying disabilities including specific learning disabilities, dyslexia, and autism.
My experience tutoring has been with students in grades 3 through 8, in reading, writing, and math. I have used the Wilson Reading and Phonics program with success, and can help your child learn to decode words by systematically associating sounds with letters. This reading program is multi-sensory, and has a strong success rate for kinesthetic, auditory, and visual learners. Math is also taught using hands-on techniques and visual strategies, as well as mnemonic devices.
Students are instructed on an individual basis and provided with strategies that meet their needs and learning styles. I have excellent references available upon request and would be happy to provide them.
Help your child get a jump start on the upcoming school year with summer enrichment tutoring. Or give your child the extra help he or she needs to achieve his or her potential.
