I’ve been involved in photography professionally for over twenty years. I started as freelance photographer and later became staff photographer for McGraw-Hill Companies. I produced and photographed the majority of McGraw-Hill's image needs for their Education Division. I photographed a variety of subjects from kids, portraits, still-life, events and special effects in the studio and on location.
I now run my own photography business focusing on environmental portraits as well as still-life, product, real estate and event photography.
I love to share my knowledge about photography and have an approach that breaks down the technical aspect of photography into easy to understand language. My teaching is designed to familiarize you with the technical as well as aesthetic aspects of photography using your digital camera. Controls such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, flash and automatic settings and how they relate to light, exposure and their effects on the image will be explored.
After a lesson or two, we can apply what you have learned on a photographic field trip where I will be your technical photographic muse, guiding you to express yourself photographically.
If you would like to continue the lessons we can then expand your skills using Adobe Photoshop and/or Lightroom. You will learn the methods of organizing and editing your digital images as well as enhancing, color correcting, create unique effects and printing your photographs.
Whether you use a digital SLR or pocket-sized point and shoot digital camera, you will acquire skills to create photographic images that convey your own unique and artistic ideas.
