My credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a specialization in Social Studies. I currently hold CEAS in Early Childhood Education P-3, a CEAS in Elementary K-5 and Teacher of Students with Disabilities endorsements to teach. I am also currently obtaining a dual Master's in Special Education/ Curriculum and Instruction that will be completed in 05/2012 at Caldwell College, NJ. I also have over 10 years of classroom experience in both suburban and urban districts, which includes employment experience, volunteer work, observations and student teaching practicum experience.
As a well-rounded educator I have had the opportunity to teach a diverse group of students including individuals who demonstrate non-compliant behaviors and those with learning disabilities. As a result, I have become proficient at designing creative, fun, and stimulating lesson plans, which accommodate multiple intelligences and bring a hands-on approach to learning in order to keep students interested and focused.
I have extensive knowledge and experience in: Assessment in Autism Interventions, Behavior Modification Techniques, Applied Behavior Analysis, Informal and Formal Reading Inventories, Curriculum Development, Classroom Literacy Initiative, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, WebQuests, Web 2.0, Wikis, Digital Storytelling, Smartboard and Whiteboards.
