Friendly AutoCAD Tutor with 10+ years of Experience using AutoCAD in the Fields of Architecture and Structural Engineering
I am a licensed architect in the state of New Jersey and hold Masters degrees in both structural engineering and architecture from Ivy League schools. I have been using AutoCAD on a daily basis since 2003. I enjoy teaching and have a calm, patient, and pleasant demeanor.
Drafting with AutoCAD, I have completed construction documents (detailed architectural CAD drawings for the construction of a building) for several architecture firms in Northern New Jersey since relocating to this area in 2009 from Philadelphia. Projects I have drafted include helipads, a kindergarten, an apartment building, and an animal hospital as well as drawings for my own ranch house renovation.
In addition to 2d AutoCAD, 3d AutoCAD, and the "Architecture" version of AutoCAD, released by AutoDesk from years 2002 to 2012, I am skilled at SketchUp, Photoshop, MS Office, and Rhino.
I earned my Masters of Architecture at PennDesign (the University of Pennsylvania) in Philadelphia in 2006 and used computer-aided design extensively at Penn, specifically AutoCAD and Rhino for 3D modeling and digital fabrication. While in graduate school in Philadelphia, I designed, general contracted, and physically built my own concrete block row house that replaced an abandoned dwelling near the university. Prior, during five years as a structural engineer in Scottsdale, Arizona, I worked on a variety of building types, from multiplex movie theaters to college dormitories to retail centers, including two art museums. I received my Masters of Civil Engineering (Structures) degree from Cornell University in 1992.
As a tutor, I pass on my years of experience using AutoCAD in a straightforward, coherent, and enjoyable manner.
