Phonics

I have completed 33 hours of my 36 hours master's of elementary education. Additionally, I am certified by NJ in K-5. I have also completed all the necessary literacy course work for my master's program.

Drawing

I have a B.A. in fine art and have taught drawing to adults for over 20 years in long term health care settings. Additionally, I have a masters degree in Art Therapy and have used the instruction of drawing in both educational and therapeutic settings. I am comfortable working with charcoal, ink, colored pencils, and a variety of other drawing materials. I can produce both realistic images and abstractions.

Painting

I have a B.A. in fine art and a masters degree in art therapy. I paint proficiently in oils and acrylics. I prefer figurative images with realistic weight and shadows and some content distortions.

Art History

I have a bachelor's degree in fine art with the necessary art history course work for this degree. Additionally, I have taken and passed the art content knowledge Praxis exam with a score of 175, a grade well above average.

Dyslexia

I have B.A., an M.A. and am currently completing my M.A.T. in Education. As a Dyslexic I know all too well how frustrating school can be. I have, however, learned and mastered a variety of techniques which have allowed me to manage my Dyslexia throughout my education. Because I have first hand knowledge of the issues with Dyslexia, I am uniquely qualified to offer assistance to this population.
