I am a recent graduate of American University in DC. I was in the National Honor Society in high school, and I graduated magna cum laude from American.
Throughout my undergraduate education, I worked with students who had ADD and ADHD. I now work with students from ages 8 to 15 who are affected by ADD, ADHD, autism, and other learning disabilities. Although I hope to attend medical school in the near future, I have always had a passion for education and teaching that has driven my passion for tutoring.
I treat each tutoring client as a unique entity. No two students are the same, so no two lessons are the same. My tutoring style focuses on building a student's accountability through the development of organizational and study techniques, while still being compassionate and attentive to his or her needs. I appreciate that different students work in different ways, so I am very flexible, and always prepared to use a number of approaches to explain a given topic. I always try to bring a little something different to the table. For example, I have developed my own writing games, which brings appeal to a challenging skill. I understand that some students gravitate more naturally to certain topics, so I always try to make my sessions as fun and enjoyable as possible for my students!
