Hello!
I am experienced in teaching elementary school students and adults in learning to read, sharpening comprehension skills, composition, and study skills. I use hands-on methods of teaching and encourage students to learn by using strategies, making connections, and looking for patterns. I have accumulated a variety of learning resources over the years to accommodate students in any language arts subject area.
As an ESL teacher, I encourage students to build academic and social vocabulary, comprehension, and communication skills through role-playing, literature discussions, and a variety of other hands-on activities. I have studied other languages including Spanish, Arabic, Korean, and Chinese to help students make connections with native languages.
