I am interested in providing students with independent tutoring to help them succeed in subjects like mathematics and reading as these are essential for success in every walk of life. As a tutor I ensure that my students perform well in their academics and, in the process, cultivate a strong passion for education.
During my years at Penn State University I was a successful Teaching Assistant for several courses because my method of teaching is highly effective. My method involves focusing more on a student's understanding of the subject by grasping the underlying concept which eventually leads to a robust performance. Such an improvement in performance has a ripple effect which not only boosts confidence but also develops a general liking for all subjects. My method also involves persistent efforts to succeed and I make sure that the person I help succeeds in his/her efforts as well. I believe that repetition is an excellent way to remember key concepts, and so I often give homework which is not cumbersome but involves a lot of thinking. With 3 years of tutoring experience, I believe I can help children with their academics and even make the whole learning experience enjoyable.
I graduated from Penn State University with a BSc in Finance and a Bsc in Economics. My academic background has given me the opportunity to work with numbers and statistics and so mathematics remains the primary subject I tutor. I am a voracious reader and love to read and write, whether it is books, newspaper articles or even research papers. I recently started working for a finance firm in Chicago, IL and so far I have had an exceptional time exploring the city.
