I am very nurturing, love teaching/kids and have experience teaching in a classroom as well as on an individual basis. I make the lessons fun and will employ different methods of teaching until the student has a full understanding of the material.
My goal is to make the learning process enjoyable to encourage curiosity and help the student ask the right questions and advocate for themselves. I understand both very strong students as well as academically challenged ones and try to instill confidence in every tutoring session. References will be provided upon request.
My methodology of getting to know the learning style of the student at hand and then customizing the lessons according to his/her needs keeps the student engaged and quickens the progress in learning the topic at hand. I structure my lessons so that the student is not simply being 'lectured' but is a full participant in the process of learning and I always check to see if the student understood all the material taught in the lesson. I don't rush the student and interrupt the lesson for questions so that the student feels free to interject and is not apprehensive about making comments or asking for more clarification.
