I have been working in the Princeton area for the past year and a half to help high and middle school students with SAT preparation, LA classes and college entrance essays. For eight years I prepared Korean and Mongolian students to take the American SAT, thrive in US universities and master TOEFL writing exams. As a professor at Ewha Womens University in Seoul, South Korea, I taught university students to understand academic reading, prepare and write academic papers and to organize logical arguments. In addition to working at Ewha in Seoul, I have extensive experience in private tutoring, having tutored middle and high school students in writing and reading. Prior to going abroad, I taught Bible and Geography classes at a private middle and high school in Virginia. At the American high school level I have also served as a thesis adviser, helping students through every step of researching, planning, writing and editing 15-20 page essays. Furthermore, in Mongolia I worked with students new to the English language. We began with the alphabet and worked together through proficiency in the language. I am a certified TESOL instructor with a B.A. in Religion, Philosophy and East Asian Studies, an M.A. in Intercultural Studies and am currently working on a second M.Div in preparation for work on a PhD. I am a lifelong learner and career teacher who has worked at every level and in many environments to help students like you excel in the study of the English language.
For those students who are interested in SAT tutoring, I offer my own materials: a 200 page workbook with tips and exercises organized around the types of questions that appear on the test. This can be purchased at your interest.
