I really enjoy teaching elementary level students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. They are always eager to learn and my high spirited personality is what I believe makes most students that I have taught, freely take to me so quickly. I'm always smiling, which is said to be contagious and I have patience and understanding that each child has individual needs and learns concepts at their own pace.
I have an Elementary Education and Psychology Bachelor's Degree and I also have a Master's Degree in Education Media Design & Technology. I love working with technology and because most students do as well, I am knowledgable about interactive ways to integrate technology into lessons to where students are learning and having "fun" at the same time!
I am not afraid to say that there are times I as well learn with the child I tutor. I might be knowledgable about the skill at hand, but still learn an important interesting fact about something that has happened in the world. I get excited when I learn something new with a child and more importantly, when the student I'm teaching is understanding the concept at hand. It makes teaching and learning more interesting and exciting for the children who sometimes are embarrassed to have to get extra help or frustrated that they can't comprehend as quickly as others. That's whats so fun and interesting about teaching and why I chose this profession.
