After working with adult students as a volunteer tutor at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and later on at Mercer County Community College, I myself returned to college to earn a Masters in Teaching in Special Education with the express intent of working with adults with learning disabilities. Reading

I hold a Master's in Teaching with a concentration is Special Education from The College of New Jersey, New Jersey's premier teachers' college. I have passed the Praxis exams in Middle School Math, Science, Social Studies, and English. I have taught Reading in grades 1, 4, 6 & 7. I have taught Special Needs students in grades 4, 6 & 7. I am currently a Special Ed. substitute teacher in the West Windsor-Plainboro School District.

GED

I have worked as a volunteer GED tutor at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen Adult Literacy program. I also worked as a paid GED Math and English/Reading Instructor in the Community Education Department of the Mercer County Community College in Trenton, NJ.

Elementary Math

I am certified by the State of New Jersey as an elementary and special education teacher for grades k-8. I am deemed "Highly Qualified" at the Middle School level (grades 6-8) in Math, English, Science, and Social Studies.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a New Jersey State Certified Special Education Teacher and am deemed "highly qualified" under the No Child Left Behind guidelines in Math, English, Social Studies and Science at the middle school level. I have a NJ certificate of eligibility in elementary education and have taught 4th, 6th and 7th grades in NJ Public Schools.

Phonics

I hold a Master's in Teaching in Special Education. Part of my training included teaching phonics as well as various methods of diagnosing reading problems.

Study Skills

I was the Coordinator of the Learning Center (tutoring program) of Mercer County Community College where I helped students with their study skills. I also taught a section of the Freshman course, "Achieving Academic Success" which also covered study skills as part of the course curriculum.

ADD/ADHD

I hold a Master's in Teaching with a specialization in Special Education from The College of New Jersey, New Jersey's premiere teaching college. I am also NJ certified as Teacher of the Handicapped. I have taught Special Education in 4th, 6th, & 7th grades, and am currently a substitute Special Ed teacher in the West Windsor-Plainsboro (NJ) School District.
