My name is Clara, and I am a Chinese girl. I was eager to become a teacher when I was young and would still love to talk with English-speaking friends to promote Chinese.
I graduated from a Chinese university with a Bachelor's degree in English and am now a graduate student at Rutgers University majoring in management. I have 3 years of tutoring experience during college years with one for Chinese and two for English. As the winner of many translation and interpretation competition as well as Chinese culture contests, I feel that it's imperative to help more students to know more about the Chinese characters, mandarin Chinese and, in the end, the Chinese culture instead of some superficial symbols or expressions.
Besides tutoring, I also helped a Mandarin Chinese education institution with marketing and promotion during which I found that many students are interested in learning Chinese, yet without the right adviser and approach. There is a Chinese saying by the Confucius that teaching students according to their aptitudes, I believe everyone is a different product as well. That's why I designed teaching method based on the information I collected from the students
