I am experienced in working one-on-one with students in all elementary and middle school grades - particularly math
, and writing
. I also work with high school students with algebra I
arts, and SAT
and verbal. I can work with students on school assignments, projects, and homework - or I can provide material to help them master areas of difficulty. I can also help students find clever ways to memorize facts in any school subject.
As a former curriculum developer, I am more than familiar with the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards, Common Core Standards (NY/NJ has adopted these for math and language arts
), and how to craft individual learning to best aid the student. Ultimately all students must take and pass these state assessments. While aiding your student move forward, I will also ensure that these standards are addressed.
My unique experiences include working with students in the classroom as a teacher, as a paid private tutor, and as a group and private tutor for a nationally recognized SAT prep
company. Additionally, I have volunteered as a tutor for various urban schools. As an undergraduate I created a GEPA 8 (now NJ Ask 7/8) tutoring program where high risk students were tutored weekly for 6 intensive hours. There was a substantial increase - as over 80% of those students passed.
Using my technology background, I have taught classes in MS Office, including MS Access, Excel
, Word, PowerPoint
and combing programs to make maximum use of the MS Office suite.
My goal would be to make sure your child is poised for educational success by first assessing what your child knows, crafting an individualized plan, and building confidence by using a variety of educational materials and technology, as well as provide a summative progress report you.

every day! In addition, coloring, discussing their day, and even planning what they will wear, are all ways to keep your child's...
