"I have never let schooling interfere with my education." --Mark Twain
I am a first generation college student who was born and raised in Paterson, N.J. and Newark, N.J.. I have lived in South America, and spent some time abroad in Europe. I am conversational in four languages, and attempting to teach myself Arabic, Mandarin, Korean and Swahili in my free time. I graduated Cum Laude from high school and attended Dartmouth College for a B.A. in English. I am currently studying in preparation for a teacher's certification program next year. In the following year, I will hopefully be beginning a post-bac program in either mathematics or physics at Columbia University. In addition to my work with WyzAnt, I also work on weekends with a NJ-based education non-profit organization which conducts a College Preparatory Program for low-income students around the state.
Along with my regular SAT, reading, science and mathematics work, I would also be able to give English courses to non-native speakers, especially because I know our area is full of individuals who speak more than one language themselves, myself included.
I will gladly provide a full list of additional subjects I would be willing to teach within the coming week or so. Likewise, because I grew up in this area, I know that costs may be an issue and that's no problem. We can discuss any pricing rate changes within the near future.
A quick note:
TRIAL: My first hour with any student is free. I do this so the student can make sure he feels I would be a good fit for him or her.
