I recently graduated from Neumann University with a degree in elementary education and minor in special education. I completed my student teaching at Chester Charter Community School in Chester, PA. I taught first grade general education and third grade special education. Through my career at Neumann, I have had many different field experiences every semester in all different school districts. I understand how public, catholic and charter schools work. In my field experiences, I had to be able perform lessons to whole and small classes/groups and also do one on one tutoring.
The way I tutor is geared towards the student. Every student learns in a different way and pace. It is my duty to figure that out so I can help a student achieve his or her goals. I am a believer in doing lessons and activities that are fun for the student but also teaching them material at the same time. For a student to learn, they need to be engaged with the material, therefore in my view, the lesson needs to be interesting to them. Some lessons will be straightforward but my goal is to keep things mixed up and interesting to help the student learn the material in a timely fashion.
