I am an electrical engineer who has worked twelve years in an electrical company and taught math for four years. I have tutored math to students of different ages and if you like I can give them your email so you can contact them and ask them about their experience from my class. Having experience in the field of tutoring math, I can assure and guarantee the volunteers that they can easily change their difficult experience with math and enjoy learning it after their experience in this tutoring.
What I usually do in my classes is that I take a placement test from the students to make sure I know what are their weak and strong points. After that I make my teaching plans based on that evaluation. I teach a lesson, provide the students with several examples of that lesson and at the end of the class ask each of them to work on questions that are related to that topic. Based on students' taste, they can either work individually or in a group to solve a question. After couple of sessions, if all of the students, or an individual student, agree, I take a test to make sure that I can move to the next subject.
