Hello Students and Parents,
I have taught elementary school for three years. During that time I have tutored several students and work for a tutoring company. I start with having a discussion with the parent then with the student to see what the struggles are. Sometimes I get direction from the parent as to what they want me to do. Other times I make a plan that would work best for the student. For example, I had a tutoring client who needed help in writing. He wrote. We discussed his interests and went through the writing process and he was able to write a story. I worked with him step by step at his pace. I am good at figuring out what the student needs and what to do to implement those needs. I am very positive and caring. My only goal is the success of the student. I try to make the work fun so the student will look forward to the tutoring session. If the work is boring the student won't learn.
