Hello! My name is Emily and I am a certified 6th grade English Teacher. I have also taught 7th and 11th grades. I hold a Master's Degree in English Education and a Bachelor's Degree in English.

I have a great deal of experience working as a tutor in the writing center at Passaic County Community College in New Jersey as well, helping students with their college-level writing for writing intensive courses. I also run workshops for writing at the community college.

I am personable, fun, and, most of all, knowledgeable about English at the elementary, middle school, high school, and college level. I believe reading and writing are skills that are learned through practice, guidance, and support. I am very excited to meet you and help you become the writer you want to be!

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. ACT English

I have experience preparing for and taking the ACT. I passed the ACT test in the 98th percentile. I then went on to achieve an Bachelor's degree from Rutgers University in English and I am in my second year of graduate school working on a Master's degree in English Education at Rutgers. This degree will certify me to teach English at the high school level, which is tested by the ACT. I work as a tutor at Passaic County Community College's Writing Center. I am also a student teacher of 11th grade English in Newark Public Schools.
