Hi, my name is Jaleesa and I've been playing my clarinet for about 17 years now and I love it. Music is my soul and I have a real deep passion for it. Started playing at the age of 8 in the 4th grade at my elementary school and was awarded 1st chair in less than a year. I was awarded Outstanding Musician in the 8th grade as well as the Frank Sinatra award. I went to Arts High to study music and my clarinet for another 4 years. Made all A's in Music every year. I got inducted into the Tri-M "Music Honors Society" in my junior year and remained in there in my senior year as well. I played at NJPAC several times as well the Symphony Hall and the Robert Treat Hotel.
After high school I went to college to study a little more but it was the same as what I did in high school. So I went back to my elementary school band to help them. I trained and tutored the whole clarinet section. I also went along with them to help the prepare for big and small concerts and events sometimes playing along side them for comfort. I was offered to take over my former elementary teacher's band spot but unfortunately I lacked the credits that were needed when he retired. I was also trained to play the flute, alto sax, and a little of the bassoon but clarinet is what I do best.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Clarinet

I've been playing the clarinet for 17 years. I studied in Elementary school and majored in it in Arts High School for 4 years. I've also played in many concerts and events at NJPAC Symphony Hall, Robert Treat Hotel, and in front of City Hall. I've tutored students with my elementary school band since I was 15 years old.

General Music

I've been dealing with general music for 17 years. I taught myself to sight read and excelled in both elementary school and High school. I studied a bit more in college but then I learned that it was the same thing I learned from my high school ahead of time.
