With an extensive background in solo, chamber, and orchestral music, Jordan was appointed as cello faculty at three music schools in the central New Jersey area in 2012: Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts Extension Division pre-college program in New Brunswick, Glory Music School in Edison, and Zen Music Center in East Brunswick. Jordan is a registered cello instructor for the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and currently maintains his private studio in the central and north New Jersey area. In Bloomington, Indiana, he formerly served as cello and chamber music instructor for Indiana University Jacobs School of Music’s globally renowned String Academy pre-college program, and served as cello instructor and performer for the Monroe County Community School Corporation.

Jordan attended the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music from 2005 thru 2012, where he was a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship while he pursued his Bachelor’s, Performance Diploma, and Master’s degrees in cello performance. His principal instructors in Indiana were Peter Stumpf, Eric Kim, Janos Starker, and Helga Winold. Jordan currently studies with Jonathan Spitz as a candidate for the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in cello performance at the Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick, NJ. Jordan also serves as Principal Cello of the graduate orchestra at Rutgers, the Rutgers Symphony Orchestra, where he is assistant to the orchestra’s director, Kynan Johns.

In addition the Jordan’s avid teaching, he is a highly active freelance cellist. His professional orchestral experience began in 2008, when he was appointed Assistant Principal Cello of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and Terre Haute Symphony orchestras. In 2009, Jordan also joined the Evansville Philharmonic and Owensboro Symphony Orchestras acting as Section Cellist. In addition to his professional orchestral contracts, he has performed with the Carmel Symphony, Wheeling Symphony, Camerata, and Bloomington Pops orchestras. For four summers, Jordan attended the prestigious Aspen Music Festival and School in Aspen, Colorado. He also performed with the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, CO.

I attended the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana from 2005 thru 2012, where I pursued my Bachelor’s, Performance Diploma, and Master’s degrees in cello performance. Currently, I am a candidate for the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in cello performance at the Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick, New Jersey. I am a registered cello instructor for the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and currently maintain my private studio in the central and north New Jersey area.

My teaching method is individually tailored to each student. I emphasize creating a strong foundation in technique-building through scales, etudes, and pieces.
