I'm a computer design instructor with expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Maya, Final Cut Pro, HTML, CSS, and other office programs. As a digital designer, I don't only teach, I actually use these programs for my day to day business so, be assured you'll be taught by someone who actually has a practical knowledge of what they are talking about.

I have a Master of Fine Arts degree with a focus on digital works from a NJ university, where I was awarded the Graduate Award for Creative Excellence. I do web design, graphic design, video and animation. My scope of work is evidence that I never restrict my learning hence I’m knowledgeable about most forms of digital art. I can effectively communicate this knowledge to students from diverse backgrounds and levels because of my scope of work and learning.

I started my career as a traditional artist doing oil on canvas paintings but caught the digital bug and decided to explore it. I was amazed by the possibilities and have since fallen in love with it and even teach web design at college level. I was one time at your level but with passion and vigorous works I’m making a living through this works today. If I can do it, you can. I love to teach and would love to help you achieve your goals.

I ensure that you get the best class ever:
I'll meet you at your skill level and go at your pace.
I'll ensure that by the time we are done you are up to speed and have overcome your difficulties.
I'm friendly and my method of teaching is very laid back.

Adobe Illustrator

In my line of work I can’t do without Illustrator. I’ve been using this tools as far back as I can remember - 8 years professionally and can proudly say that since my grown up years these tools have paid my bills the most. In short, I know Illustrator well. Illustrator and Photoshop are essential tools for digital designers irrespective of their areas be it creating logos, brochure, and fliers.
Today the need for artist with skills in this area is even in high demand in application design companies; Illustrator is used for designing web applications to web design mockups and even elements on web pages. So, learning illustrator is a step in the right direction.

I enjoy using Illustrator for digital illustration. Having migrated from traditional art, it was a thing of joy to find a tool that could help me translate my organic pencil sketches to full blown digital works that I’m able to produce as posters. My background as a traditional and at the same time a digital artist and instructor helps me understand the needs of both artistically inclined students and those coming from a more technical background hence, I'm much more able to get through to them irrespective of their learning pace.

My teaching approach is very laid back and I’m patient and even use analogies if it helps. My happiness is in knowing I’ve been able to help someone overcome their difficulties.

Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop and Illustrator are my two most used tools for digital design. I actually know both equally because they go hand in hand for me – most of the time I use Photoshop to prepare photographs which I end up juxtaposing with text created in Illustrator. I do much more complex artwork though but this is like the bare bones/ process.

Between Photoshop and Illustrator I can say I used Photoshop the longest because I was retouching images before I started working on graphic design projects. These two tools are very essential for digital design - Graphic or Web design.

Photoshop and Illustrator are essential for tools for creating logos, brochure, and fliers, application design, web design mockups etc.

Photoshop is highly needed for my day to day work as a digital designer so I had no choice but to know it well. I will be glad to teach you what I know and my joy will be to see you doing great things with this tool.

I have a Master of Fine Arts degree from a NJ University where I received Graduate Award for Creative Excellence. I’ve received award for Best in show from over 700 works of art in a juried competition, I’ve been in traveling shows, and have also been awarded 1st place in painting exhibition, and I have other successes to my credits. These are markers of my dedication to my career as an artist but the true measure of my success is the evident joy and passion radiating around me as I work at my art or teach it to others. I’ve been showing my works for over 12 years including shows at college, in New York, New Jersey and abroad.

I love art and I enjoy teaching it. I often use oil and canvas, acrylics, pastels, pens and pencils. I have taught afterschool programs to children from kindergarten – high school, and have run classes and art shows for adults too. My students always want to take their works home –they just can’t wait to show off their new skills so I always encourage them to make extra. Art is fun, it’s calming and it brings joy – I’m proof of this. You’ll enjoy your class with me and I’ll help you bring out your best.

As an adjunct professor of Web Design, I taught HTML and CSS at a community college. HTML is easy to learn, it’s not scripting (no need to be afraid,) It’s a structured language and once you understand how it is structured, you’ll be writing whole pages and itching to do over your website in no time. Last semester I had a bunch of students that knew absolutely nothing about HTML and just hope to breeze through the class but towards the end of the semester, I was the one asking them to slow down because I did a good job explaining the concept to them in the beginning that their fears evaporated in the first few lessons, they started experimenting own their own, they begged me to rush through the syllabus because they couldn’t wait to finish their personal web sites. They even applied CSS. They did so well – they surprised themselves and I was very proud of every one of them. So, if you are afraid and think you can’t do it, especially those of you who are not technically inclined, know you can do it especially if you have a teacher like me. I’ll be honored to help you.

I’ve been using Maya for seven years now and it was actually the focus of my Master of Fine Arts thesis project. I worked on a lot of projects using Maya and came to love it. Its capabilities are endless that is why I gladly adopted it as one of my favorite art medium. My favorite thing to do with Maya is modeling, rigging, rendering, and Animation. Having come from a traditional art background I can say that Maya is the digital version of sculpting with clay. If you are one who likes building things with your hands, you’ll like Maya. The best way I can analyze the process of modeling to a layman is that one can liken the 3D modeling to manipulating your clay; the rigging can be likened to the armature/wireframe that holds up the form.

As mentioned above I came from a traditional art background and migrated to digital; I do web design, graphic design, video and animation. My scope of work is evidence that I never restrict my learning hence I’m knowledgeable about most forms of art, and can effectively communicate this knowledge to students from diverse backgrounds and levels, be it fresh beginner because I’ve been there and at one point like some of you knew absolutely nothing but because of my passion and vigorous learning and applying myself to work, I now produce impressive works and I’m making a living through this works. If I can, you can. I love to teach and would love to help you achieve your goals.

A typical foundation of 3D Modeling and Animation using Autodesk Maya software lesson with me is project based. It includes introduction to Maya interface, introduction to polygonal and nurbs modeling. Students will also learn to create complex 3D objects and scenes, texture 3D objects, light and render scenes.
Topics to:
• Introduction to Maya interface and customization
• Creating New projects and workflow
• Navigation
• Modeling
• Rigging
• Shading and Texturing
• Lighting and Rendering
Any experience or level is welcome. I’ll meet you at your level.
