My passion in life is helping others, in any way that I can. I have always had a love of learning, and my desire to learn more is never-ending. I have always worked hard in anything I have studied, and have utilized many different methods of learning/studying for understanding concepts. While in college, I helped many friends understand things we were being taught by showing them how to look at the information in a different way. Everyone has different modes of learning, and I believe that figuring out what best helps an individual to learn is key for their success. As a certified Wellcoaches Health and Wellness Coach, part of the curriculum included helping people to uncover the "type" of learner they are, as well as the "modes" of learning that best suited them. By identifying one's learning style, it makes learning easier and less stressful, which can help them to reach their full potential.
My Bachelor's degree is in Biology/Pre-Physical Therapy. Within my four years at college, I completed my Bachelor's degree as well as the first year of Doctoral Physical Therapy coursework. My undergraduate GPA was a 3.75, and my graduate level GPA was a 4.0. I decided not to finish graduate school for Physical Therapy due to some physical ailments I was dealing with, even though I was excelling academically. I am, however, continuing to pursue my passion of helping others in different ways. The areas I specialize in include all different types of math and sciences (such as Elementary Math and Science, Algebra, Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Trigonometry, etc.). After working with a child to identify the best way for them to learn, I will provide periodic assessments and progress reports. One of my goals for each session is to keep the student engaged and challenged, without being overwhelmed. I like to inspire children to find a way to enjoy what they are learning.
I am willing to meet with students in their home, a library, or another location that is convenient for you. I am fairly flexible with time. I just ask for 12 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. I do realize that emergencies happen and am understanding of such instances, provided that they do not occur on a regular basis - and am willing to provide makeup sessions.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!
