Algebra 1 lays the foundation for all higher math classes. This subject requires abstract thinking, which is why so many students struggle. It's not that they aren't ready to think in this new way - they just need lots of time, practice, and patient understanding. I'll be able to quickly diagnose where your student's trouble spots are and how he/she approaches the assignments. I will reinforce the concepts previously taught in class and drill the particular problem areas of your student. The most important part is that your student will gain self-confidence and be able to apply these problem-solving skills to other subjects, and every area of life, for that matter.

Study skills are imperative in becoming an independent student. I will teach you how to take notes from a lecture, outline a chapter from a textbook, annotate study materials, drill vocabulary, and more.
