Algebra 1

Tutored 20+ students in this subject over the last 5 years

Algebra 2

Tutored 20+ students in this subject over the past 5 years

Biology

My Major in Undergrad, one of my strongest subjects to teach, although it is highly dependent on the student reading and keeping up outside of lessons

Calculus

Tutored 10+ students in this subject over the last 3 years

Chemistry

I have over 5 years of experience tutoring Chemistry from elementary levels, through AP and college courses. I have especially helped students over the summer to prepare for their upcoming courses to familiarize themselves with the subject beforehand.

English

I am able to proofread and edit essays, book reports and written projects, as well as help with grammar, usage and vocabulary, although I find that students must be proficient in keeping up with their work outside of lessons as well in order to be successful.

Geometry

I have tutored 25+ students in this subject over the last 5 years, and Geometry, along with Algebra II, remain my most highly requested subjects.

Grammar

I am able to teach the rules of grammar to students, especially in preparation for the SAT, ACT and SSAT.

Physics

I have tutored 20+ students over the last 5 years in Physics, focusing almost exclusively on Honors and AP level classes.

Prealgebra

I have tutored 10+ students in Pre-Algebra over the last 5 years, and possess a supreme mastery of the pedagogy and content of the subject.

Precalculus

I have tutored 20+ students in Pre-Calculus over the last 5 years, specializing in teaching the Unit Circle and Trigonometric functions, which remain very popular sources of confusion for students.

Reading

I have tutored 10+ students in reading, focusing on helping to organize and brainstorm in writing essays and interpret difficult literature.

SAT Math

I have helped 25+ students prepare for the SAT Math section, as well as the Subject tests, over the last 5 years. I have seen unilateral improvements in scores for every student I have helped.

SAT Reading

I have helped 25+ students prepare for the SAT Reading Section. I am especially adept at individualizing the strategies taught by the major tutoring houses for the SAT to fit your child's particular strengths and weaknesses. I have seen unilateral improvements in scores for every student I have helped.

Statistics

I have tutored 15+ students in Statistics over the last 5 years, focusing mainly on College-Level Stats and AP Stats for high school students.

Trigonometry

I have tutored 30+ students in Trigonometry (more commonly as part of Pre-Calculus these days) and am supremely proficient in all facets of the subject.

Vocabulary

I have extensive experience with vocabulary of all types, and am especially effective in passing on the techniques that translate to retaining words and definitions most effectively.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
