Hi, I'm a Ph.D. Chemist with fourteen years of experience teaching and tutoring Organic Chemistry at university, undergraduate and graduate levels. My services are aimed at students taking a traditional Organic Chemistry course geared towards Chemistry and Biology majors, and the majority of my students hope to go to medical or veterinary school.

A multitude of such students have approached me over the years feeling frustrated about Organic Chemistry. Often, they would begin by telling me how many copious hours they have spent studying for their exam, quiz, etc. From my experience, this is due to studying the wrong way.

A student's first inclination is often to memorize bond breakage and formation, and this methodology culminates in confusion and distress. The answers are in the mechanisms... I can show students how to deconstruct reactions to their underlying principles, and apply this fundamental knowledge to understand and predict molecular behavior.

Organic Chemistry

I have a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, and my teaching specialization is Organic Chemistry. I have taught Organic Chemistry at three universities and tutored individuals as well as small groups since 1998. I understand that not all of my students taking Organic Chemistry are trying to become Chemists, but that a good performance in this course can be essential for their future plans.
