I am a creative, innovative, flexible and organized educational professional with over eighteen years of teaching and tutoring expertise at both the middle and high school levels. As both a classroom teacher and individual tutor, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of math levels from 4th grade to Calculus. In addition, I have been extensively trained as a test prep tutor with Princeton Review, Kaplan and Alpha Prep. Having worked in both public and private school settings, I have had the privilege to work with an assortment of students with a variety of learning styles. I am a patient and talented teacher who has been very successful meeting students on their level, working with and enhancing their individual learning styles and determining strategies to empower them to grow into confident and competent learners. Students and parents have often commented on my ability to keep lessons lively, energetic, fun and, ultimately, informative. I believe that I have an uncanny ability to make math understandable. My philosophy is that anybody can learn, if taught by a patient and encouraging teacher. I have a talent for employing teaching strategies that are not only effective, but fun; not only educational, but engaging. I have been told I have a gift for reaching both the strugglers and the superstars, that I create a learning environment where it is cool to be smart and safe to take risks.
