Salutations, I'm Chadash. I would be happy to tutor anyone that needs help in my subject areas. I specialize in Science mainly Biology. I also tutor in some math, literature, and basic level Spanish language. I have a bachelors in Biology and am more than halfway done with my coursework for a doctorate in Physical Therapy.

I consider myself a lifetime learner.

I actually enjoy the process of learning and try to convey that to those that I teach. I have 1 year of substitute teaching experience but before that I've spent many hours tutoring or studying with other classmates at the high school and college level aiding them to to break down large amounts of information. I have my certification in Biology but I always have knowledge in the physical, physics, and chemistry sciences as well.

I am a very visual learner. For those that consider themselves visual learners, I have a great store of hints, tips, and study aid tools that would help with note-taking as well as studying.

I've had experience with those with special needs through my professional experience and personal experience. My younger sister has Autism and I can appreciate the challenges she faces with her learning process regarding attention span, daily capacity to learn, and understand the need for a lot of patience and understanding for such students. I believe any child can learn but need the proper tools to grow skilled in any given area.

Outlines, summaries, flow-charts, and picture summaries are my favorite way to commit even complicated concepts to memory. I like to use color to trigger memory. Certain things like key terms will always be in the same color which makes reading notes over again that much easier. If these things appeal to you I'm the right tutor for you.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 can be a frustrating subject for some students. It requires time to practice and internalize the skill. With some guided practice, I can make the subject less intimidating. I know how to simplify the math's rules and principles with some helpful hints "such as" what to look for and cues when to use certain math skills.

Biology

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. It's my subject of choice. I've taught biology classes during semi-permanent positions as a substitute biology teacher.

Chemistry

I've taken about 15 college credits of Chemistry and had a strong foundation built beforehand in high school with CP Chemistry. I maintained high B's and A's in all my chemistry courses. Although I did not major in Chemistry, I have confidence that I can give a student a fortified backing on the basics of this subject.

Vocabulary

Using advanced vocabulary is a particular skill. Just knowledge of the word isn't enough. One needs to use the word in their speech actively and appropriately to retain it. Adding to your vocabulary makes your speech colorful, makes your writing come alive, is an asset to have at your fingertips. I read a lot in the past and now. I made it a point to look up words I don't know, not just out of curiosity but to acquire them in my own speech and writing.

Geometry

Geometry is a math that has a very predictable logic once you know what to look for. Proofs are one of the types of problems students dislike to do. I can help make the subject a lot easier for the student to understand.

Prealgebra

Before the student is truly challenged in Algebra, Pre-algebra will give your student a firm base to hurdle these challenges or confuse them before they move on. I can strengthen your student's ability to overcome this facet of math. I've taken college level math courses such as Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Pre-calculus. Your student will have a strong math foundation to excel in their classes.

Reading

I am an avid reader of academic and casual literature. I have learn to find literary elements in the text as well as discern subtle things like mood and intent. I have taken AP English in high school and scored a 3 on my AP English exam.

Spanish

I started my Spanish training in high school. I took 5 educational years in Spanish. I keep extensive notes about verb tenses and how to write properly. I use my Spanish actively in leisurely reading or professionally at my workplace as a substitute teacher. Taking on a language can be difficult. I'll be happy to help you use your time effectively to practice such a skill.

English

In high school, I completed Advanced level courses in English as well as AP English my senior year. I received a 3 on my AP English Exam.

I am an avid reader and writer. English requires skill to command the written and spoken word of English in speech, writing, and reading. I'm capable in all these areas.

Anatomy

Classes I took regarding Physical therapy gave me an extensive experience with human anatomy. I've learned many tricks and acronyms along the way.

Physiology

Physiology covers a lot of different biological processes physical and chemical. Some are confusing or just complicated. I've taken many biology college course that concentrate more on these processes not just memorizing names. Sometimes a few helpful acronyms and quality studying time is all you need to get on track.

Literature

I am an avid reader of different genres. I enjoy prose and poetry. I can teach students to notice the small aspects of what they read so they can catch themes and deeper meanings of their reading. Figurative language, the mood of words, and parallels are methods used by authors. With practice, these things will become easier to find. Students will develop an appreciation for what they read in school.

Physical Science

Physical science is a combination of chemistry and physics. I am acquainted with the fundamentals of these. Science can be confusing at first but it just requires making connections with the material.

Elementary Math

My highest college math course I've taken is pre-calculus in which I got an A. I have tutored elementary students on their math. The key to teach math is finding the procedure that works best with the student's learning style. That's what I can do for the students I tutor.

Elementary Science

Science has been my best subject since elementary school. I've taught science at the high school level but also make it understandable at the elementary level as well.

Study Skills

My graduate college experience in the competitive program of Physical Therapy naturally helped me learn how to study well and effectively, especially when there is an extensive amount of information to learn. I am able to advise for the processes of note-taking (different types based on learning style), outlining, summarizing, how to read a textbook (using a textbook effectively) ,flashcard making, hints & tips acquired only through experience, and the study habits for test takers.

Bible Studies

I'm an avid reader of the Bible. I've been studying the Bible actively for past 13 years. I am familiar with the basic theme of the Bible. I take great interests in the fine details and at times confusing prophecies, prophetic imagery, and other facets that can be difficult when learning about the Bible.

Genetics

Graduating with a bachelors in biology has afforded me the opportunity to take many college courses on Genetics as well as courses like Developmental Biology that has large sections dedicated to or branch from genetics. I've taken more than 20 credits worth of such courses.
