Expert Tutor in Math & Physics-over 40 years of experience

I have earned degrees in Engineering, Applied Math, Applied Physics, and Mathematical Physics. I've also earned certifications in actuarial science and financial risk. I have many years experience teaching and tutoring math and physics to college students. I also volunteer teach astronomy in local elementary schools. I have a sense of when students are understanding vs not understanding the material, and I pitch the information at a level that I believe is suitable for the level and abilities of the student.

In addition, I have many years experience in business, explaining complex technical things to non-technical people in a language that is understandable and suitable to the audience. I'm enthusiastic about reaching younger students to help them understand that math and science can be fun and non-threatening. Rather than focusing on memorizing complicated formulas, I focus on the basic ideas and explain how they work. Once a student understands the underlying ideas, the formulas start to make sense.
