As a mature mother of two teenage daughters, I have many years of experience with children both in and out of the classroom. I am certified in NJ to teach K-5 all subjects as well as 5-8 Math and 5-8 Science. I am also able to tutor high school students in Algebra I, Algebra II and SAT/ACT prep. My test prep involves not only practice questions and sample tests but test-taking and time-management strategies.
I am currently teaching on a part-time basis and especially enjoy working one-on-one with students. This lends itself to designing instruction suited to the individual needs and learning style of the student. I believe teaching is a creative art. No two students are exactly alike. A good teacher is one who can identify the specific needs and learning styles of her students and design a path for learning based upon those needs. As a tutor, my job is not to review classwork but to find new ways to re-teach and reinforce what was learned in school.
In addition to academic instruction, I am available for sewing, knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, and most other needlework instruction.
