I selected the education profession to merge my ability to enrich the lives of others and my desire to keep students motivated for success. My educational philosophy is one which allows for the optimum development of a student’s social, emotional, and intellectual well being. My strategy is to consistently reach this goal by providing students with guidance, attention, and the moral foundation they need to cope with the challenges of today’s troubled times.
Why consider me for the position? First, my K-12 experience in a variety of school settings has obvious benefits that can be applied to the various situations students face. I have been teaching for eight years and I am currently evaluating essay response portions for the PRAXIS II. As a result, I have a wealth of real world experiences that can be integrated into tutoring, making students excited and interested in the world around them.
In summary, I feel my resolve to become an educator was a well thought out decision. As a mature adult, I knew returning to school for my graduate degree would require significant personal and financial sacrifices. I believe this is an indication of how motivated I am to be an educator. Also, I believe that my passion for learning, my diverse experience and compassion for people, especially the youth, are the ingredients which make me an outstanding educator.
