My name is Catherine and I am looking forward to meeting you. I grew up in Torrington, Connecticut and I now live in New Jersey. My elementary teacher wasn't only my teacher, but also an author of children's books. I read all of her books and more in the library of our classroom. This made me an advanced student in reading and writing ever since I opened a book.
My love for reading and writing continued as I grew older. In high school, I was inducted into the National Honor Society and took several honor courses in English. By the time I was a senior in high school, I was taking an Advanced Placement (AP) course in English. We read 12 books that year and studied film, poetry, and novels as texts.
I recently graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. I earned two Bachelor (BA) degrees in Comparative Literature and Visual Art. At school, I was the President of the Photography Club and organizer of a do-it-yourself art community, ArtHouse, both for two years. I was the leader of my group art show, InnerSpace in my last year of school. I have gotten my photography published in Village Voice. I did independent film & writing study in Comparative Literature.
I am heavily involved in literature and visual art. I do freelance writing and photography. I teach my friends my skills when it comes to writing their papers or analyzing something. In organizations I've been in, I've learned to gather material and resources to share with people. I am always reading a book. My favorite thing is to share with people what I am learning.
I am interested in Higher Education and would love to have the opportunity teaching you.
Thank you for your consideration. I hope to meet you soon!
