Hi! I can tutor people in many different subjects. I also love teaching students photography! My professional credentials are that I have worked two years as a substitute teacher, para professional, shadow and teacher's assistant. I am just about to receive my certification of eligibility to teach in public schools for fall of 2013. At the same time, I will receive an endorsement to teach in a special education classroom. I have a Professional Photography Certificate. In the past, I have helped children in the Girl Scouts earn their photography badges and have taught older college students. I also have a certificate for both CPR 1 and First Aid.
I am experience helping students with a variety of disabilities as a student teacher, shadow and as an assistant teacher. I have shadowed students with autism and have applied various refocusing techniques to help them throughout the school day. One job I had involved coming up with different techniques with an occupational therapist to help a student’s sensory and orientation issues. I truly believe students with all disabilities can overcome their limitations, and that they need more one-on-one interaction. In my opinion, it is important to encourage creativity and exercise to help bring balance to their lives. One of my favorite experiences was working at SHHRC. This is an organization that helps students overcome their various limitations by teaching them to ride horses. It was one of the more rewarding experiences I have had. As a student teacher, I have taught 25 students in a class with different learning styles. Also, as a para professional, I have helped students with fractions.
My tutoring approach depends on the subject that is being taught. I generally love adding creativity to everything I teach. I also love motivating people at all ages! It is fulfilling helping others to reach their goals! Tutoring others, I excel at adapting instruction and helping students with study skills.
Thank you for your time! Hope to hear from you soon!
