I began tutoring when I was in high school. I was a member of the math honor society, Mu Alpha Theta, and found that helping other students with math was a very rewarding experience. Later, when I was in college at Columbia University, I began to share my knowledge of physics. I now teach physics and astronomy at Ocean County College and tutor in basic math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, chemistry, physics, astronomy, and SAT prep. In addition, I am currently working on my master's degree in education at Rutgers University.
While I enjoy the classroom, I find that working with students one-on-one is the most effective way to help them learn. One of the greatest feelings is when I am able to help a student to experience one of those "light bulb" moments, when they finally, really get it. And then to watch them take it and run... It is one of my favorite things.
