After spending more than 35 years as a business executive, I am now focusing all of my attention on helping students to learn subjects like Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Accounting, Finance, and special exams such as the ASVAB (military entrance exam), and the GED.
I have an undergraduate degree in Finance and Mathematics and an MBA from Columbia University in Finance.
Here is a short description of the subjects I am currently tutoring.
Elementary/High School Math
If your child is having trouble keeping up in math class it can be detrimental to his or her other subjects. A level of stress and anxiety about can hurt their ability to focus on other subjects. It can be frustrating for a parent to try and help their child with math homework or to help them understand a problem even if the parent is good at math, they may not be good at being a tutor for their child.
I will help your child not only grasp the subject matter, but will create a learning environment that will have your child looking forward to their next lesson and wanting to go back to class and show off their new found math skills.
Please read my reviews and see my ratings – my students all give me high marks
Test Preparation
Do you need help with math, pre-algebra, or algebra 1? Most exams have elements of math as part of the requirements to pass such as the GED and the ASVAB. You not only need to learn the material, you have to learn how test taking techniques as well. Simple tips can increase your scores dramatically. Whether you need to pass that entrance exam for nursing school, GED, ASVAB, or just want to do better
Accounting/Finance
As a former CFO and Controller for both large and small companies, I have experience with instructing both incoming new graduate accountants and also seasoned professionals. As a father of two daughters who are now grown and have careers of their own, and a grandfather of two I have a lot of patience and know how frustrating the subject of accounting can be to someone who is experiencing this new subject for the first time. I will help you through all the spots that you don't understand and will teach you more than just the debits and credits. Accounting can be fun - so if you give it and me a chance you will learn to like it and find that it can be very beneficial now and in your future.
Even if you do not intend on a career in accounting or finance, prospective employers will be happy to see this on your resume.
