After graduating from the Catholic University of America with a degree in Politics and a minor in History, I decided to pursue my Master of Arts in Teaching in secondary education. Shortly after graduation, I made a two year commitment to the OperationTEACH service learning program. Through this program, I was given the opportunity to teach full time while living in a community of teachers and to earn my master's degree. The rigors of teaching while at the same time attending graduate school were many, but I gained from the tremendous experience. In May 2008, I graduated with honors from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and am currently certified in Social Studies and Elementary through the state of New Jersey. Additionally, I am certified in the State of Delaware in Secondary Social Studies, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Special Education. My educational experience helped me to create effective teaching strategies based on the most current research.
I most recently taught middle school social studies and religion in West Chester, Pennsylvania, while my tutoring experience has been ongoing for the past five years. I have worked with students ranging from kindergarten through college in various subjects, including Social Studies, English, Mathematics, and Study Skills. I have also worked with students in preparation for AP History and AP government exams.
