¡Buenos días! My name is Lauren, and I am a certified and highly qualified high school World Language teacher at one of the top performing high schools in the state of New Jersey. I am in my seventh year and I currently teach level three, level four, and level five Spanish. Prior to beginning my career, I studied Spanish, French, and Japanese at the undergraduate level at the University of Delaware. Upon finishing my degree, I immediately began a Master's program concentrating in Spanish Literature and Pedagogy. While a graduate student, I co-taught Spanish classes at the University of Delaware alongside a tenured professor which allowed me to put into practice everything that I was learning about second language teaching methodology. During my time in college and graduate school, I frequently studied abroad in cities such as Puebla (Mexico), Granada (Spain), and on the island of Martinique (France). Through studying abroad, completing a rigorous language pedagogy masters program, and teaching for the past seven years, I have become skilled in the craft of teaching language to speakers of English.
Since I have experience teaching at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels, I am comfortable with tutoring students of Spanish in any and all levels (1 all the way up to AP). I would also be happy to work with adults or small children with a personal desire or professional need to learn the language. I willing to come to your home for sessions or we can meet at a public facility in your town.
I look forward to working with you!
