Teaching seems to come naturally to me, as I love sharing what I do with others. I can edit your novel, can help you work through a paper argument, or simply help you understand the complexities of punctuation and grammar. I also love to teach sewing and knitting. I have a BA in English and Psychology from Goucher College. In addition to my classwork, I worked for the Academic Center for Excellence, where I was trained and certified as a tutor. In addition, I have a Masters in Library Sciences and am currently working on a PhD in History. As you can probably tell, I love learning!

Ballroom Dancing

I began dancing at the age of 2 and have loved it ever since. Though I do not teach ballroom dancing for professionals or competitive dancers, I am happy to teach waltz, swing, salsa, rumba, foxtrot, and cha cha to individuals or couples who are looking to learn the basics, have fun at weddings, and improve their dancing skills. Lessons will be geared toward learning the basic steps and proper rhythms, understanding technique and having fun.

Sewing

My mom taught me to sew at a young age and by high school I was making my own clothing. I have previously taught basic sewing machine skills, hand sewing, how to use patterns, how to fit clothes, and basic alterations.

Cooking

Though I have never had formal training, I have always enjoyed cooking. In addition to being able to follow recipes, I am able to improvise to create delicious meals without instructions.

I have personally studied nutrition to aid my own health and am able to teach someone how to cook within the limits of dietary restrictions. I can cook and bake gluten free, dairy free, soy free, vegan, vegetarian, organic and any combination of those.

Ballet

I began my dance training at age two and never stopped. As a teacher, I have worked with students from age two through adult. I can teach basics, aid in choreography, or help strengthen technique.

Needlework

As a self-taught knitter, I have learned many different techniques and ways to knit. Whether you want to learn the basics of knitting and purling or the more complicated aspects of knitting a sweater, I am here to help. We will work together as I show you how to cast on, increase and decrease stitches, cable, and read patterns.

You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
