I have been teaching and tutoring for nearly 14 years. My teaching and tutoring took me from New Jersey down to the southeastern U.S. and back again. I taught 7th grade, 9th grade, 10th grade all the way up to 12th grade and even some on the college level! I am a seasoned certified teacher with experience on the middle school, high school and college levels. I have also been extremely successful with special needs students, especially those with ADD/ADHD, anxiety and other disorders. I have written many research papers and am soon to have published my first book! I taught Reading and Social Studies in Dixie and just Social Studies in New Jersey -- everything from American History to World History to Geography to American Government and Economics. I have received training from the College Board in AP U.S. History, AP European History and AP U.S. & Comparative Government. I have spent time during my college days living and working in Washington, DC during the Reagan years so I can bring a lot of political science and government experiences to my students.
What makes me most satisfied about my teaching career are not my accomplishments; but rather those of my students. As I reflect, I see a doctor fighting disease in his lab at a prestigious pharmaceutical company , a young soldier defending our great country in Afghanistan, a teacher who is teaching little ones in pre-K. These are just some of the "children" who I taught and tutored over the past 14 years. And, they, like your son or daughter, are my inspiration and reason for my continuing my teaching career as a teacher/tutor.
