I am a mother of three teenaged sons in Middletown New Jersey and a former homeschooling parent. I have over 15 years experience in early childhood education and have passed the Praxis II in Early Childhood Content Knowledge grades preschool - 3 and also the Paraprofessional Assessment. I am currently employed as a prekindergarten teacher and have experience working with school aged children from K-6 in an aftercare setting. I currently hold an associates degree in ECE, a Bachelors in Biblical Studies and a Masters in Christian Education. As a 4H club leader I love teaching, believe that children learn by doing, and I encourage a love of learning in others. Will offer tutoring in the public library.

As a school age after care instructor and paraprofessional, I have tutored and instructed students in grades K-6th in the subjects of language arts, math, science and social studies. Tutoring and homework help is available in mathematical concepts: arithmetic, pre-algebra, geometry, measurement, data organization and interpretation. Language arts skill areas include: phonics, increasing reading comprehension, vocabulary and writing.

Phonics

As a prekindergarten teacher I am experienced with teaching phonics beginning at age 4 through ten. Using a systematic approach to introduce each letter, sound and blends will reinforce learning sounds through stringing sounds together to make words.
